New managers

Have you recently been appointed as team lead? Do you prepare yourself for a next step in your career to develop from expert to leader? You probably think that is easy, however in reality this often is more difficult than expected. What is important to know in your role as a leader? How do you delegate work? How do you influence decisions? How do you get the best out of yourself and your team?

For new managers we offer a unique combination of a training / workshop followed by a series of personal coaching sessions. This gives you the change to learns the theory and apply it to your personal situation.

The following topics are covered in the training:

  • The basic principles of effective communication
  • Understand why communication sometimes goes wrong and how to prevent miscommunication
  • How to improve your listening skills
  • How to lead a team or department and motivate your team members
  • How to handle stress and work pressure better
  • How to delegate your work effectively
  • How to influence with and without formal authority
  • How to successfully communicate with senior management
  • The difference between the 3 hats of a good leader: the visionary, the manager and the coach

During individual sessions I act as a mentor and coach, ask questions that make you think and challenge you. You gain insight into your personal motivations, pitfalls and beliefs. You will learn a lot about your personal communication style and how you can use it more effectively. Furthermore, I share my own knowledge and experience, and be your soundboard. I am accustomed to work with scientific and technical people and my style is direct and down to earth.
