It’s a miracle that you can read this post today!
I had so many excuses why I did not want to write it:
✓ The topic is not interesting enough
✓ Who am I to write about this
✓ I first need to update my website
✓ I have to make an urgent phone call
✓ Etc, etc, etc
I love making excuses, especially if I need to do something that is outside of my comfort zone.
I now realize that my brain wants to keep me safe and comfortable, however that stops me from growing and reaching my goals.
When I notice this pattern, I think of Mark Slats, who is a Dutch ocean sailor and adventurer.
In 2018, he competed in a single-handed, non-stop, around the world ocean race, on a small yacht without modern navigation equipment. He spent 214 days alone at sea! That is what I call a challenge….
His motto was “be stronger than your excuse”. He even wrote it on the wall of his cabin, so he was reminded of this every time he felt fear, fatigue or weak.
It helped him to keep going, to keep pushing and to reach his goal to finish this race.
It helps me too….to keep moving, to show up and go for it.
This is how I can best support Life Science Professionals to be stronger leaders and have more impact on patients
What excuses do you make that prevent you from reaching your goals?
If you want to increase your impact, but your excuses are getting in the way….let’s have a chat!
